Rules & Guidelines
- 1. A student should carry his diary to school every day with complete information duly signed by the parents.
- 2. Students who come to school in their own transport should arrive at school before the bell rings. No student is allowed to come to school in a self driven scooter, motor cycle or car.
- 3. Changing class rooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
- 4. Students should be clean and neatly dressed. The school uniform must be worn everyday. Students who are shabbily dressed and not in the complete uniform will be penalised. They must carry their identity card.
- 5. Non Sikh Boys should come to school with their hair well combed. They should get their hair cut at regular intervals and shave their beards properly. Use of gel on hair is not permitted. Patka may be worn only while playing games.
- 6. Students are expected to respect the property of others. They should also show respect for school property and no student should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher, the coordinator or the Principal. The defaulter will have to pay for the loss. Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments to school.
- 7. Students are advised to keep their class rooms/school building/campus as neat as possible and throw left over into the dustbins only.
- 8. No books (others than text books or library books), magazines or money may be brought to the school without the Principal's permission.
- 9. Lending or borrowing of money and other articles is not permitted.
- 10. The school is not responsible for goods lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles like expensive watches or fountain pens, money and mobile phones to school.
- 11. Those who go home alone should be prompt in returning home.
- 12. SPS students should observe polite standards wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their behaviour. Bullying and using of foul language is strictly prohibited. Since it is a co-ed school, it is expected that the students behave in a manner which brings a good name to the school community. They should not indulge in any anti social activity in or outside the school.
- 13. The school reserves the right to suspend or to take strict disciplinary action against a student whose performance in studies is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
- 14. Parents and guardians are not allowed to visit their ward or teacher in the class rooms, without the permission of the Principal. Once a child has come to school, he/she is not allowed half day leave except in case of emergency.
- 15. Students should get their report cards signed by their parents/ guardians within two days of the receipt of the report cards.
- 16. Students are not supposed to miss any teaching/games/activity period whether there is a teacher in the class or not. The time table incharge has been directed to make alternate arrangements in case the teacher is absent.
- 17. It is expected that the juniors be treated with love and affection, while the juniors show all respect to their seniors.
- 18. There should be perfect harmony among the students.

19. No student shall indulge in any of the following practices:
- * Spitting in or near the school building.
- * Disfiguring or otherwise damaging any school property.
- * Rowdyism and rude behaviour.
- * Use of violence in any form.
- * Casteism, communalism or practice of untouchability.
- 20. The observance of rules of discipline of the school and good behaviour is an essential condition to a students continuance in the School. In case any student violates the School rules or indulges in any form of indiscipline, strict action like expulsion/suspension/rustication shall be taken against the student.
- 21. The Student is expected to come prepared with his difficulties to facilitate clarification.
- 22. Self discipline is the forte of the school.
- 23. Bursting of crackers and playing with colours and any other such unwanted activity is liable to lead to expulsion of a student from the school.
- 24. No student will be allowed to go home without the written permission of the Principal.
- 25. Heena (Mehendi) & nail polish is not to be applied even on festivals or special occasions.
- 26. Bangles, nose pins, gold ornaments or artificial ornaments are not to be worn by the students.
- 27. Parents should send an application in case their ward needs to avail leave. If a student remains absent for a week without sending any information, the name will be struck off.
- 28. 75% attendance of the student is compulsory in the school. If he/she fails, school will not permit them to appear in the exams.
- 29. Students are advised not to miss the school specially near exams. If the students remain absent without prior permission, they will be penalised.
- 30. During school hours, Children are not allowed to leave the school alone. No request on telephone will be entertained. In case of any emergency, Parents will have to come to school to take their ward back.
- 1. The School expects the parent's co- operation to ensure that:
- (1) Parents do not walk into the classroom.
- (2) The children come to school punctually, regularly and are neatly and properly dressed.
- (3) The children's text and exercise books are neatly covered, correctly labelled and are brought to school as per the time table. They should be properly maintained.
- (4) Home work and Practice exercises are regularly done and children follow an early to bed routine on week days.
- 2. Parents/Guardians must make adequate transport arrangements for their child/ward. It is parent's responsibility to ensure that the children reach the school punctually and are picked up on time. The school cannot be held responsible for the safety of the pupil after school hours.
- 3. Parents are especially requested to notify the school immediately if there is any change in their, or the emergency contact person's address and telephone number.
- 4. When communicating with the Principal, Parents are requested to mention in their letters the name, the class and section of their child/children.
- 5. Any message to teachers or students may be given to the school office staff who will be glad to pass it on to the person concerned. Only in an extreme emergency will a teacher or student be called to the phone during the school hours.
- 6. Parents can not meet the students during the school hours. In case, the child has to be collected during school hours (eg. For a doctor's appointment) a leave application must be submitted in advance and prior sanction obtained.
- 7. As the medium of instruction in the school is English, Parents are requested to ensure that there is certain amount of regular English conversation at home. This would help the children to follow their lessons easily and intelligently.
- 8. Valuable articles are not allowed in the school premises and the school is not responsible for any loss or damage. Gold ornaments & mobiles are not allowed in the school.
- 9. Parents are requested to ensure that the students bring their tiffins in the morning in the interest of security, Tiffin/Lunch Packets brought later will not be accepted.
- 10. Sick children should not be sent to school. They pose a health hazard to their fellow school students. However once the child attends the school, it is understood that he/she is well enough to stay the whole day. He/she shall not be allowed to leave early.
- 11. Copying in exam is an impardonable serious offence. If a student is found using unfair means or understood to have copied in the examination, he/she will strictly be dealt with as per CBSE norms.
- 12. Students are not allowed to come to school on two wheelers & cars driven by self.
The fee will be collected by the Axis Bank, Ropar as per the instructions printed at the back of Fee Book issued to the students.
- 1. Fee is to be paid in cheque payable at Ropar or in cash.
- 2. Fee will be collected from 11th to 20th . In case the bank is closed on 20th , the fee will be accepted on the next working day.
- 3. After the due date the late fee will be charged @30/- per day. After 25th no fee will be accepted by the bank/school. However, the fee will be charged with Rs.200/- as fine along with next fee.
- 4. Fee will be collected as under:
- April - April
- May/June - May
- July/August - July
- Sept./Oct. - Sept.
- Nov./Dec. - Nov.
- Jan. - Jan.
- Feb./March - Feb.
Important: In case of any unforeseen problem Parents are requested to inform the office about the delay in paying the school fee. Otherwise, as per rules, the child's name will be struck off, on non-payment of school dues or he will be fined as the case may be. Security Deposit will be refunded within the period of six months only. Thereafter no security refund will be done.
- 1. All students using the school bus are expected to be on the right side of the bus stop at least five minutes before the arrival of the bus.
- 2. The bus will not wait for late comers.
- 3. The children should stay away from the main road until the bus arrives.
- 4. No student should come near the entry door of the bus until it has come to a complete halt.
- 5. All students must occupy vacant seats immediately after boarding their buses. No student should travel standing on the foot board.
- 6. The front door of the bus is the only authorised entrance and exit.
- 7. The drivers are authorised to stop buses at the designated stops only, unless otherwise directed by the teachers in the bus. The list of stops is prepared keeping in view the convenience and safety of all bus commuters and is always subjected to change.
- 8. When the bus is in motion, students must not move around in the bus and no part of their body should be outside the bus.
- 9. Students will be held responsible for any damage to buses caused by negligence or vandalism.
- 10. No student is allowed to eat in the bus.
- 11. Discarding trash or food either inside or outside the bus is not permitted.
- 12. Unruly behaviour like shrieking and shouting is strictly prohibited. Courteous behaviour is expected at all times.
- 13. The driver's attention must not be distracted for any reason.
- 14. The teachers in the bus and student bus monitors are responsible for maintaining discipline in the buses. Any serious matter must be reported to the Principal.
- 15. Bus permit card must be carried by all those who commute by bus. Students must travel only by the buses allotted to them by the transport office.
- 16. No child will be permitted to discontinue bus service in the middle of the year.
- 17. Parents are not permitted to take away the child during the school hours except for extreme emergencies and information to this effect must be given to the bus driver.
